NICO Holdings Limited took on banking as one of its core businesses when it acquired a majority and controlling stake in the then New Building Society, now NBS Bank. This gave the group a strong competitive advantage to deepen its involvement in financial services, and successfully turned the country’s only mortgage bank into a full fledged commercial bank.
